Was referred by a customer of mine basic food bread is fresh but to many other places to eat in the area with better food. I definitely wasn't impressed.

I needed a quick bite. Not to be mistaken for Mr. Submarine. Their menu's are eerily similar. I had the Italian. I sawed through it and went on my way. Now it was probably the onions, but I was burping for the rest of the day. The bread was overly soft and a bit doughy. Not a fan!

Great sandwiches, all are great. I like the turkey the best. Great for late night munchies! The prices are good and the fries are great also.

I hate to leave a 1-star review, but after my last couple times at Sub-City, it was the last straw, and not worth it for just short of a $10 meal. The subs in my opinion are just fair. I really prefer local business over chain restaurants in almost every circumstance, but Jimmy John's makes a better sub than Sub-City does, I've convinced myself of that. Yes, I know this place has stood the test of time, but just because it's old doesn't mean it's great. I think the only things this place has going for it is the late-night hours, semi-low prices and the garlic butter fries. We came in at around midnight and the place was swamped with an array of Orland Park's finest weirdos and drunks. It was really understaffed with only 2 people working the graveyard shift. They could have used at least 2 more workers for the amount of orders, which brings me to my next point. I ordered a Southsider, which is roast beef and corned beef, since the last time I was there the roast beef wasn't too bad. I specifically said hold the onions, and substituted garlic butter fries for the regular fries. My order came out nearly 10 minutes later, and my sub not only had onions on it, but they completely omitted the roast beef. The garlic butter fries are usually pretty good, but they have jacked the price up nearly $1 over a period of about 2 years, which is unfortunate, because the fries are still the same in portion and taste. I can't refuse these things though, they can't be replicated and are probably the only reason I still go to sub city, despite the greasiness and saltiness having variable levels of unbearable and delicious. I felt bad for the 2 guys behind the counter, and didn't think complaining or anything was warranted, despite my poor experience there. I'll keep trying Sub City once in a while and maybe get lucky one late night, but until then, I have to leave a measly 1 star for this place. Sorry to you Sub-City cult people....

Perfect. Regular turkey, all three sauces. Consistently good, I always look forward to a great sandwich from here.

I've been coming to sub city since it was the go-to place for Friday nights after the high school football games! The mozzarella sticks are great! My family often comes here for just fries to bring home for our dinner when we're having burgers or steak sandwiches or something. The fries alone are what keep me coming back. The food is average. I usually order the chicken tender or the sub. It's standard "diner" food.. Pretty good... but like I said the fries MAKE the place. I would recommend!

How has life gone on this long for me without writing a review for Submarine City? I can't, I just can't. This place has about as much nostalgia and place in my heart and diet as my grandmother's cooking. They've been around forever. Forevah evah? Fo-evah evah?? Yeah, that long, Ms. Jackson. Sorrynotsorry. My grandma used to bring these home for dinner, or we'd ride over and pick them up for the whole family. We'd stop there for lunches on occasion. I ate them with friends in high school. We took advantage of their late-night hours in college, and my wife and I will still zip down to Orland when we're hungry and don't feel like cooking. As was the case last night. It makes me smile when she actually suggests going there. I love knowing that she loves the place too, having grown up two states away. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's evolved a bit through the years. But the staples: the Depth Charge and the Torpedo are longstanding and both delicious. There's nothing fancy about the sandwiches, and I'm sure if I tried, I could deconstruct them to make them at home. Cheese, meat, shaved lettuce, thin tomato slices, onions and dressing. I think that's the basic. If there are some hidden secret ingredients I've never tasted them or seen them inserted. But there's just something special about having the perfect sandwich available to you whenever you want it, and knowing that it will always taste like home.

Submarine city is a small hole in the wall fast food place specializing in sub sandwitches, burgers and hot dogs. In driving buy I noticed a neon green Vienna Beef sign in the window and figured this would be a place worth stopping at. When walking in there's a handful of places to sit down and eat in. I noticed an RC Cola soda fountain with mostly RC and Nehi products. There's only a small area for food preparation. Overall I'd describe the interior of the restaurant as clean and cozy. I ordered a hot dog with everything. It came on a soft poppy seed bun. There was a slightly thick pickle on top. Nicely sliced onions, some thick and slightly wet tomato slices and enough sport pepper to cover the entire hot dog. The mustard and relish were applied perhaps a little too sparingly, and there appeared to be no sign of celery salt. Finally the sausage used in this instance is a natural casing skinned dog. It was well heated and had a nice flavor. Overall I would say that this was a very good Chicago style hot dog. Based on my experience here I'd recommend Submarine city if you're looking for a good quality Chicago style hot dog at a reasonable price. I'm giving it four stars, a surprisingly good dog from a place that specializes in sub sandwiches.

Absolutely LOVE the cheese sub from Submarine City. I used to live in Burbank and frequently went to their location there back in the 80's/90's. Glad that they still have a location around that is serving up the same quality food.

I would love to write a good review on the restaurant I always go to subsidy except for today I will never go back there again because of the fact I ordered a sandwich made it wrong I brought it back and they told me they could not help me and they said they could not resell the sandwich after I asked them to fix it and they told me they could not help me worst service ever!!!!

I can't remember when I started going here. It's great for a late night meal after a night of drinking, or just a good cheap lunch in an area where everything else is overpriced. They make a pretty basic sub, but it's a really good one! The bread is awesome. I think it's Turano bread. The fries are good greasy thick crinkle cut. You can't beat it for the price, especially in this area!

I love a good sub place. The key to my heart is a good sandwich. This was just your average deli with fresh meat and cheese, but they get an extra star because I can't find any other place in the area that delivers the quality of product that they do. They blow all sub places in the area away. I had the depth charge and enjoyed it. I will be back.

This is place has been in its current location for as long as I can remember! And it has never let me down, the best sub sauce in town! If you are looking for a new age health food sub shop this is not the spot for you, it's a down home local place that gets it right every time. Fries are fresh and crispy.
